CGI Call Not Allowed

We have a unix script being called thru CGI and it's failing. It was working in LSF 10.0.7, but after upgrading to 10.0.8 we get this message:

The requested cgi /lawson/lawprod/gen/cgi-bin/xxxxx.sh is not allowed to run. Check IOS logs for details.

I've checked all the permissions I can think of. We are on AIX 7.1 and running WAS 8.5.5.4 Does anyone know of any CGI restrictions in 10.0.8?   It's a simple shell script that echo's back an html page with a message the jobrun executed and the results are available.

LSAudit in V10 not tracking updates

Hi,

We upgrade from V9 to V10 in May 2016 and use Avaaps Security Dashboard.  After the upgrade some of the Sec Dashboard reports were failing and it turned out to be the LSaudit tracking was missing from that release.  Infor have since added this tracking back in to the app but we are finding that not all ISS user updates are writting to the LSAudit table.  Based on advise from support we recently applied a DSP 944 update and LSF CT to bring us to LSF  10.0.7.1332 which had other adverse impacts on our loaduser process and list based sync.

So just wondering if other installations are relying on LSAudit to track users history or what other tools are they using.

v10 OnPremise MF Cobol-SafeNet Sentinel Errors

So we're an on premise client who completed our upgrade to v10 in December as a fresh install on new servers with a new database. Windows 2012 application servers (VM), 2012 SQL Server cluster. Production system goes down 3-4 times a week and errors point to the same issue each time but I'm an ex-functional consultant that knows enough tech to be a novice admin but that is the role my organization is asking me to fill at this time. Anyway, the issue manifests itself as Portal is up and users can inquire/submit but update actions (first in batch form) start failing and eventually even inquires will go down if we allow the issue to fester for an hour. Looking at submitted jobs the log will display an error of 'Cannot talk to the license server on host 127.0.0.1' or 'Licensing error cannot communicate with licensing daemon'. Looking at the Windows server event viewer the error observed occurring before each outage is an error message pertaining to lservnt.exe / ntdll.dll faulting application SafeNet Sentinel. That service is being used to validate the MF Visual Cobol license status and each time it appears to be the first warning that errors are occurring. It is definitely a volume related incident but it is not occurring at our peak usage hours so it's not a concurrent licensing issue but possibly a total licenses consumed over time or orphaned cobol licenses that aren't getting released properly. Appliying Patches/Updates

Hello Community,

 

We have been on Infor Lawson for a little over a year now.  We have been applying application patches on an as needed basis.  I'm looking to be a little more proactive than our current approach with the end goal of being current.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Any feedback is appreciated.

Open Enrollment Freezes on IE11 64 bit PC Windows 7

We are testing Open Enrollment for our upgrade to Windows 2012 servers.  We are also upgrading the applications.  In testing Open Enrollment freezes when it gets to the page that displays the current benefit selection.  This only happens when using IE11 on a 64bit PC.  It works fine when using IE11 on a 32 bit PC and works fine in Chrome or Firefox.  Has anyone else run into this problem and if so did you find a solution?  We have been working on this issue with Infor Support, but have not come up with a fix.  It may have something to do with an update to Windows, but I have not been able to determine which update could have caused the problem.  Thank you.

LDAPBIND using ldaps protocol

We have done ldapbind's using the ldap protocol, but one client would like to implement it with ldaps protocol. Looking at the command structure, it appears the -W, -P, and -U options come into play, but I'm not sure how to set those up. Does anyone have experience with ldaps?

Attached is the command structure for GENDIR/bin/ldapbind.

Lawson DB Randomly Crashing

HP Integrity 11iv3 - Apps

Linux server - Oracle 11g DB

Lawson 9.0.1.12 Env

Just within the last few weeks we started having our production database crashing randomly.  Everything had been running solidly for at least 4 years when we started with the Oracle DB on the Linux server.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?  Or what to look at/for?

Lawson logs just show it losing connection with the database, and the Oracle logs have been sent to Oracle with no reply as of yet, and don't really show much either, that we can tell.

The interesting thing is that we've converted most of our HR/PR/BN/GL/AP data over to SAP, and only have Canadian companies still on Lawson.  So our "power user" base has probably went from 150 users to 15, and the database crashes now with less utilization?

Pulling specific data from Lawson

I'm new to working with Lawson data and I have a number of fields to pull.  For example, one piece I need to pull is (Total Revenue Cycle Cost) / (Total patient Service cash collected).  I'm not sure where in the Lawson database this is and I need help finding it.  I have a host of other datapoints I need to collect but can someone help with a primer on how to find this kind of data in the Lawson database?  I'm currently searching for column names but I'd like to be more precise.

Portal Admin URLs?

To all,

As we know, turning the Portal Administrator to YES in the S3 SecAdmin tool enables these Links/Bookmarks in the Portal Common Tasks page:

Manage Roles
Manage Bookmarks
. . .

Clear IOS Cache


And as many of us know, you can clear the IOS Cache with this:

(server)/servlet/IOSCacheRefresh

 

Does anyone know of a way to get to Manage Roles and/or Manage Bookmarks via a URL (or any method that doesn't start from the Common Tasks page)?

Log Straight into S3

I am used to seeing something like http/s://:/SitePages/InforSuite.aspx?LogicalID=lid: to get straight into say S3.  Lately, I have seen a couple organizations using http/s://:,port>/Lawson%20S3/SitePages/Default.apx.  Is this something from the Work Space days (pre-Ming.le)?  What is this?  Is this going away?

Removing a webserver from WebSphere

We used to allow employees to get into self-service directly from the internet, without first going through our company portal.  We have now stopped that.  But the webserver that we used (for this purpose only) is still "hooked in" to our production set-up in WebSphere.

What I need to do is remove this server from WebSphere.  I am not especially familiar adding/removing servers from WebSphere. 

When I go into WebSphere, and look at the "Middleware servers" page, I see the button that says "Delete".  Looks tempting, but I'm sure it's not that easy. 

Any advice on how to proceed, where to go for documentation - anything?

LASE won't start

We rebooted our Lawson test server, and now lase does not want to start.  It's a fresh reboot, so I'm not sure why we are receiving an "Address already in use" message.  And we have verified that Tivoli is running.

 

9.0.1.12 Env running on HP Integrity 11iv3

Any ideas?

Custom 4 G/L program ignores STDFTR

I have a client with a few custom 4 G/L programs.  A recent requirement to add a footer to the reports works well everywhere but for one program.  It acts as if the $STDFTR is not defined.  This is defined in an identical way which works well on several other custom programs.  Any ideas on why this would fail?

SSRS reports

Hello,

We have reports in ssrs and have bookmarks that link to these reports. The EmployeeID is part of the url querystring (...?EmployeeID=<>).

 

I have changed the report to use the UserID of the logged on user and lookup their employeeID from our db.table. 

But now, I have to log in twice. first to LSF,  second to SSRS. 

 

The log in credentials are tied to the same NT domain LDAP. There must be a way to pass the credentials, How?

 

I do not know if this is related but we do not have "BSI".

motd based on security rule

Hello,

 

We have a payroll lockout process where the payroll department set a certain payment code as "active" in PR20.4.

Users cannot do certain things in the system depending the status of this flag. -- A security rule checks this flag and will either give "ALL_ACCESS' or just "I,N,P'. 

 

Is there a way to tell the user that the system is in payroll lockdown mode when they log in?

something like a message of the day, or just make a certain image or bookmark appear.

Multi-step job definition and print folders

Hello all,   having a strange issue with a Multi-step job that has been defined with 62 Lawson steps and one user token step.   

When the job is run, it creates extra print report directories in this case 63, 64, 65 and 66,   there are no reports in the directories. 

At one time the job could of had 66 steps and they were deleted/removed from the Multi-step job.  

Please see attachment.   

Would anybody have an idea on what is going on, or where to look.

return 26 records, but the db2 'select * from lawson9.gltransrel' return zero records?

User Activity Monitoring Solutions

I'm wondering if anyone can share what they are using for monitoring user activity in Lawson?  Are you using 3rd party solutions?  How long have you been using them?  Is there anything lacking in these solutions?
